Dental implants are a permanent option for tooth replacement.
When the teeth are lost or removed due to injury, impact, tooth decay, or age, it’s important to restore them to maintain your overall oral health. Nose Creek Dental Centre offers dental implant placements at our dental clinic in Airdrie. Whether you’re missing a single tooth or you are looking for a full dental replacement, our dental team can provide you with the restorative solution that fits your needs.
How Dental Implants Work
Dental implant procedures begin by opening a small hole in the jawbone. A titanium post is fitted into the hole. The bone will integrate with the post in a process known as osseointegration.
After the post has stabilized, a small connector is placed over the post and connected to a pontic (a false tooth). Implants can be placed to replace single or multiple teeth. We can also use them to create abutment teeth for dental bridges or as the base for All-on-4 treatment.
Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
To ensure that implants are successful, our dental team will need to review your oral and medical history. We will examine the gums and jaw bone density to ensure that you have enough supporting structure for the implants. The jaw bone tends to deteriorate over time after tooth loss, so it’s best to receive dental implants as soon as possible after tooth loss occurs. If we determine that you are not a candidate for dental implants, there may be some pre-operative procedures that can prepare the mouth and jaw for implants.
The best way to know if you are a candidate for dental implants is to book an oral examination with our experienced dental team at Nose Creek Dental Centre. Call today and ask us about dental implant procedures in Airdrie.
